It was a big day in the Norwood family, today! Our (almost) 6yr old has been asking to get her ears pierced like her big sis for weeks now, so today was the day to get it done. She was so excited! She told all of her little friends at church and we even had some friends over for lunch to join in the piercing party! So mid-afternoon came and off we went to Clair's! (Oooh! Excitement!!)
Friends help. These girls have been talking about it all day long at this point...
Daddy, I really want to get the pink sparkly ones... it's my birthstone! (Marketing...)
You know, on second thought, maybe I'll do this another time.
"Oh, I know - you first, Hannah!" What we weren't counting on was if Hannah cried, what would Elena think?
Hannah cried, but she did really well. It sure freaked Elena out though! We should have had them trade places...
Once we got her into the chair, she was terrified. We almost left, but we knew she was so excited for so long, she just needed a little encouragement.
She got brave and let the girl mark her ears for the location of her new bling.
Even Tatum joined into the fun! We were all trying to put a smile on Elena's face and help her build up the courage to do it. In the end, it came down to a series of lies and bribes to get her to do it... I felt dirty.
Oh, poor thing! She hates needles.
That didn't take long! She was so happy to have them in!! She couldn't stop showing folks as we walked by. She was proud of her new bling!!
And of course, big sis had to help celebrate, too.
Even little tank-o-luv shared in the festivities!
